About LineIQ

Built on the plant floor, not in a spreadsheet

LineIQ was built by packaging industry veterans who spent decades designing, selling, and troubleshooting production lines. It turns that experience into a tool anyone can use to find where a line loses output and what fixing it is worth.

Why we built it

Most line improvement decisions start with a hunch and a spreadsheet. The filler looks slow, so the filler gets upgraded. But on a line of machines in series, the real loss is often hidden in how small stops on one machine starve or block the next. An accumulator in the right place can be worth more than a faster machine. In the wrong place it does almost nothing.

LineIQ makes that analysis take minutes instead of a week. Enter your machines, and it finds the constraint, compares every accumulator placement, and gives you a payback period you can defend in a capital request.

Model the whole line, not one machine

Availability compounds across every machine in series. LineIQ multiplies it through the full sequence, so the answer reflects how a real line behaves.

Put a dollar figure on every fix

Accumulators, speed upgrades, and reliability work all compete for the same budget. LineIQ ranks them on one payback period so the trade-off is obvious.

Show the math

Every figure traces back to the inputs you entered: rates, failures per shift, and repair times. No black-box scores.

Who uses it

  • Plant and process engineers building the case for capital projects
  • Operations managers looking for the cheapest path to more cases per shift
  • Equipment sales teams showing customers the return on a proposed system

Our methodology

The calculation approach behind LineIQ is patent pending. You can read how the pieces fit together in our guides to OEE, finding the bottleneck, and accumulator ROI.
